‘POSTGRESQL’ DATABASE INSTALLATION FAILED DUE TO NO INTERNET CONNECTIVITY ON THE AWS EC2 LINUX INSTANCE

Problem statement: Postgresql database installation failed due to no internet connection on the AWS EC2 Linux installation.

Solution:

  1. Please download the PostgreSQLPackage.tar.gz zip file from this link: https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/www.anomalydetection.io/software_downloads/PostgreSQLPackage.tar.gz
  2. After downloading the PostgreSQLPackage.tar.gz zip file unzip it. It will create a directory called ‘download.postgresql.org’.
    1. Command to unzipping the PostgreSQLPackage.tar.gz: tar -zxvf PostgreSQLPackage.tar.gz
    2. In the below command update the directory path of the ‘download.postgresql.org’ directory in ‘baseurl’ parameter and run the command:
      1. sudo tee /etc/yum.repos.d/pgdg.repo<<EOF
      2. [pgdg12]
      3. name=PostgreSQL 12 for RHEL/CentOS 7 - x86_64
      4. baseurl=file:<directory_path>/download.postgresql.org/pub/repos/yum/12/redhat/rhel-7-x86_64
      5. enabled=1
      6. gpgcheck=0
      7. EOF
      8. [pgdg12]
    3. Rerun the commands starting from point number 4 of ‘Configuration for LocalExecutor’ in point number 8 of ‘Airflow Installation and Configuration on Linux’ section in ‘ALEXIS Airflow Installation and configuration for ALEXIS Customer guide’.
